The White House on Wednesday denounced a request made by Democratic resolutions to the US military and intelligence agents to refuse to obey "illegal orders" from the Donald Trump administration.

In a video posted Tuesday on

“Right now, threats to our Constitution are coming not only from abroad, but also from right here in our own country,” the Democrats asserted, including Senator Mark Kelly, a former US Navy member and NASA astronaut, and Senator Elissa Slotkin, who served with the CIA in Iraq.

“You can disobey illegal orders,” they urged.

Trump Administration Rejects Call

“Senior Democratic leaders are openly calling on CIA officers and military commanders to rebel against their commander-in-chief. Don't underestimate how dangerously radicalized the Democratic Party has become,” Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff, posted on The opposition did not specify which orders they were referring to. Since returning to the White House in January, Trump has faced criticism for his use of US forces both at home and abroad. Within the United States, Trump ordered the deployment of National Guard troops to several cities across the country, all governed by Democrats, in an attempt to control alleged widespread unrest. Abroad, he launched an operation against suspected drug traffickers in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific. Experts say the attacks, which have killed more than 80 people, are illegal and amount to extrajudicial killings.
