A missing person investigation helped the Long Beach Police Department ( LBPD ) locate a 14-year-old girl who was suspected of being a victim of human trafficking, according to authorities.

The LBPD reported in a statement that on February 13, officers received a statement about the removal of the young woman. Detectives determined that the girl involved may have been a sufferer of human smuggling after conducting preliminary investigations.
