In lens crystals usually accumulate dust, fat, fingerprints and other waste. To prevent that dirt from distorting the vision, there is a homemade trick that is being viralized: cleaning them with white vinegar.
But the effectiveness of the home remedy depends on how it is applied. While vinegar helps to remove residues and marks on the crystals, it is not right to use it directly especially if the lenses have special treatments.
White vinegar is an excellent ally for cleaning of this type, thanks to the fact that it contains acetic acid, a compound to which antimicrobial properties are attributed.

The most important thing about this trick is that you should not use pure white vinegar directly on the crystals. You must dilute it with water in equal parts: 50% white vinegar and 50% water.
Pure vinegar could spoil the anti-reflection treatment, filters, or the gloss of the crystals.
Also, after using the mixture, the lenses should be rinse and dried with a clean microfiber cloth. This material helps to remove moisture and waste without resorting to elements that can leave particles on the surface.
In addition to performing proper cleaning, some daily care can help keep them in better condition. It is recommended to keep them in their stove when they are not used and attach them to the patillas to avoid touching the crystals.
It is also advisable to avoid cleaning them with clothes, towels or paper, as these materials can leave waste or cause strains. Glasses should also not be placed with the crystals directly on a surface, this can scratch them permanently.
