Authorities in Georgia thwarted a potential school shooting plot, resulting in the arrest of three individuals, two of whom are minors.

Three individuals, including a 17-year-old from Metter, Georgia, and a 21-year-old from Chatsworth, California, were taken into custody by the Canton Police Department and charged with conspiracy to commit murder. The third suspect, a minor from Canton, Georgia, has not been publicly identified.

Following the FBI's discovery of threatening social media posts, investigators initiated an inquiry into an alleged conspiracy. The FBI notified the Cherokee County school district police, who subsequently contacted the Canton Police Department on October 19 to request their assistance.

A juvenile suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, was apprehended on October 20 following an investigation into threats made against the school. The individual also faces charges related to disrupting or interfering with the operation of public educational institutions.

Two additional suspects were apprehended by law enforcement on October 23.

Taylor has been relocated to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center, with Terry's transfer to the same facility anticipated.

Police have gathered a range of evidence, including firearms, ammunition and electronic devices, as part of their ongoing investigation.

Law enforcement officials stated that they will maintain certain aspects of the case, encompassing evidence and individual identification information, in order to safeguard the integrity of the ongoing investigation and adhere to relevant legal standards.

Preliminary assessments suggest that no Cherokee County schools, including the Cherokee Preparatory School, are at risk of potential threats.

Canton Police Chief Marty Ferrell emphasized that the safety of students and school staff is paramount, with every threat thoroughly investigated and addressed. He expressed appreciation for the prompt response of law enforcement partners and the diligence of detectives in identifying and apprehending the suspects involved.
