Los Angeles city officials are running a Christmas campaign focused on supporting families affected by recent ICE immigration raids.

Through this initiative, residents and organizations can donate toys and essential items to bring relief and support to children and families going through a difficult time during the holiday season December.

The campaign will be active until Wednesday, December 17. All drop-off points operate from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, making it easy for donors to drop off during the day.

Among the types of toys and items that can be donated are: puzzles, board games, books, coloring books, sports equipment, school supplies, gift cards, and prepaid transit cards.

Major Karen Bass made a public appeal to join the campaign. “All Angelenos deserve to feel the hope, love, and community that comes with this time of year, especially families affected by recent federal immigration activity,” the mayor said in a statement. “No donation is too small, and every act of generosity brightens the holiday season for those who need it most,” the mayor added. The Los Angeles City Hall website notes that during the donation drive they are also accepting winter and household essentials such as coats, hoodies, hats, gloves, socks, sweaters, and blankets. Additionally, they are accepting holiday meal kits, packages of non-perishable food, and gift-wrapping materials.
