Barack Obama, former US president, is convinced that he has become an obsession in President Donald Trump's head, as he repeatedly dares to criticize his work during the eight years in which he governed the nation.

A few days ago, the 64-year-old Democrat pointed out in an interview with the “Today” program, which is broadcast by the NBC News television network, he argued that the United States could be “worse” than before the war with Iran began.

“We have fought a war, spent billions of dollars, put our armed forces under enormous pressure, many people have died and it seems that we are back to square one of the war, only maybe a little worse,” he said.

In addition to defending the nuclear deal he negotiated during his term, Obama emphasized that Trump made an unfortunate mistake during his first term by withdrawing the United States from the pact, as this allowed the Iranians to better develop their nuclear capabilities.

Feeling discredited by the man whom he took over as head of the presidency, Trump called him “a weak and ineffective leader” who did not dare to block the way for Iran's nuclear program during his time at the head of the government.

“Obama did not stop giving them billions of dollars in cash and never used our then-weakened military for what should have been done to control the main sponsor of terrorism in the world, Iran,” the Republican president wrote on the Truth Social platform.

Far from putting an end to the disqualifications between the two politicians, Obama now mocked Trump without even mentioning his name in an intervention carried out on the “All the Smoke” podcast.

"Obviously I have a room in his head, a suite in his head. You have to ask him what it is..." he mentioned.

He then tried to present the New York magnate as a defocused president to guide the country's destiny.

"The idea that I would worry about someone who came before me and try to measure what they did today is strange to me. Being constantly worried about that shows that you are not focused on the American people or the job you are supposed to do," he said.
