The next presidential election of Real Madrid is already beginning to mark the debate among the club's members with two proposals that point directly to the sporting future of the institution. While the current president, Florentino Pérez, would have planned to make an offer of 150 million euros for Michael Olise, one of the most coveted figures in European football, the opposition candidate Enrique Riquelme announced that he will try to convince Jürgen Klopp to take over as technical director if he is elected.

The possible arrival of Olise and the proposal to incorporate Klopp have put two of the most relevant names in international football on the table. The initiatives represent different paths to reinforce the Madrid sports project in a context of institutional definition, where applicants seek to present their plans for the next stage of the club.

According to information released by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Florentino Pérez plans to present an official offer of 150 million euros for Michael Olise next Tuesday. Although the president avoided publicly mentioning the footballer, the winger appears as the main sports bet in the president's planning.

The operation, however, would face a major obstacle. The head of Bayern Munich, Uli Hoeneß, assured in May that the German club is not contemplating the player's departure.

“Without any possibility of selling, not even for 200 million euros,” said Hoeneß about Olise's situation.

Riquelme bets on Klopp to lead a new stage

In parallel, Enrique Riquelme presented one of the main promises of his candidacy by announcing that, if he wins the elections, he will entrust Raúl González with the mission of contacting Jürgen Klopp to offer him the leadership of Real Madrid's new sports project.

As the businessman explained in an official statement, the decision on the coach would fall to the sports area headed by the former Real Madrid striker, whom he considers the key to designing the direction of the institution during the next decade.

Riquelme revealed that Raúl gave him only one name to occupy the bench: that of the former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund coach.

The candidate highlighted both the titles won by Klopp and his ability to build teams with their own identity, leadership and a competitive culture. He also acknowledged that the German coach recently stated that he has no intention of returning to the bench in the short term and that he rejected other proposals, although he considers that the possibility of directing Real Madrid could represent a different challenge.

For this reason, he assured that, if he obtains the support of the partners, on June 8 Raúl González will personally contact Klopp to present the candidacy's sporting project.

“As the next president of Real Madrid, my commitment is clear: surround myself with the best, listen to those who know the most and always make decisions thinking exclusively about the interest of the club and its members,” said Riquelme.

“With humility, with serenity and with enormous enthusiasm for the future, we are prepared to give back to Real Madrid everything that has made it eternal: the ambition to win, the culture of effort and the conviction that there is no impossible challenge for this shield,” he concluded.
