Mariachi El Bronx dusts off their charro suits
The band that fuses traditional mariachi music with punk rock and hardcore is about to release a new album
Matthew Caughthran was raised listening to his sister's large metal records, music that still holds upwards as his great love of rock'n'roll heart today. He always anticipated that another genre of music would one moment cross his path and blow his mind. Matt has two sons, Vincent and David Hidalgo, in his early years. However, he and David only became associates in high school because of their shared passion of punk rock. And it wasn't until that point that Matt became aware of who these two lads ' father was. The singer-songwriter said," The first time I went to their home, I had no idea who their father was. " I was blown away by Los Lobos, even though I knew about them and their extraordinary musical talent. In fact, Matt was a close friend of David Hidalgo's children, the multi-instrumentalist and lead vocalist of Los Lobos, a popular Chicano group that fuses rock, blues, traditional Mexican song, Tejano, land, and traditions. It was an amazing experience for Matt to see this team play concerts, which first took place in East Los Angeles in the 1990s. They have a lot of influence, especially on David, with their manner of singing and their alternate spelling of English and Spanish, Matt, who was born in Orange County, Southern California. They were asked to perform an acoustic version of a Bronx song for a television show in 2007 or 2008 ( Matt can't recall the exact year ). However, they sought a more creative way to do everything, and they drew inspiration from Los Angeles and its extensive music culture. For this sound type, our guitar, Joby [J. Ford], wanted to try some mariachi habits and patterns, and that's how it all began," Matt said. By "all," he refers to the beginning of Mariachi El Bronx, a side project of The Bronx that fuses standard mariachi songs with punk stone and extreme. They have released three albums since 2009, and they will release" Mariachi El Bronx IV," a twelve-track album from which" RIP Romeo" and" Forgive or Forget" have already been released. The third one," Bandolero," will be released on Tuesday, before the album's next solitary," Bandolero," will debut on February 13. The team had a ten-year break from producing music, travelling, and projects with The Bronx, and this generation marked the end of that time. Additionally, Matt was against creating an song that didn't accurately reflect the song that inspired The Bronx. We occasionally played shows during those ten years, but to be fair, we made an effort not to do so excessively because we didn't want to sound cliched or like a group that only performs on special occasions or anything else. Before dusting off their charro suit, Matt and his friends, including Vincent Hidalgo, who plays the guitarron, hoped for a magnificent and strong return. The musician remarked," We care deeply on what we do. " We take that very seriously, and it's something that matters a lot to us when creating, because we strongly believe that what one creates and shares with the earth, whether good or bad, will last forever.
