But then Selvidge's situation worsened with multiple relapses, generating permanent vision problems and constant pain. Despite various tests, the diagnosis of mild transverse sinus stenosis did not explain the root cause of his symptoms.

Nightmare and wake-up call

“Within about 10 minutes, the swelling got considerably worse and started to spread towards my eye,” Selvidge said of what he experienced after the sting. “It was terrifying to see how it changed so quickly,” reported Newsweek.

She went to work the next day and, when she finished late, she had to go to the emergency room because the swelling was getting worse. Finally, I had to have surgery to drain the abscess that had formed.

The nightmare continued: "About a month after the first hospitalization, the swelling came back. It was devastating because I thought I was finally recovering. The second time, it gave me serious sinus infections and constant headaches."

As if that were not enough, he says: "Then, just two weeks after leaving the hospital, it flared up for the third time. Each relapse generated more fear and uncertainty, especially because no one could tell me exactly why it kept happening."

He had a third relapse, which left him with permanent vision problems and severe headaches that lasted for days. He also felt that not enough blood was reaching his brain, which were the most difficult symptoms to cope with.
