The Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, stated at her press conference that no US defense action would be taken to combat drug cartels and prostitution.

" It's not going to happen," said one. In truth, there was a clarity afterwards. It has been mentioned numerous occasions. In phone conversations with President Trump, he has said on numerous occasions," We offer you a US military involvement in Mexico or whatever you need to overcome the fugitive groups. " But I've told him repeatedly that we can work together and that they can provide any knowledge, but that we only operate within our own country and that we don't want to be in any contact with foreign governments," she continued.

The Mexican president made these remarks after US President Donald Trump said he would send forces to Mexico to combat Mexican drug traffickers.

" I told him ( Donald Trump ) this on the phone, and they understood," I said with Marco Rubio and the State Department. The knowledge we have with them is one of cooperation and coordination, and the first factors are very obvious: value for our aggressiveness, and that there is collaboration and cooperation without subjection, that has been made very clear," Sheinbaum said. Sheinbaum Pardo mentioned that a statement from the US makes it clear that US soldiers can only act if the Mexican authorities demands it. Next they issued a statement saying that they would not intervene unless we asked for it because we do not want any foreign governments to engage. There is collaboration, cooperation, but there is neither subjection nor may we consent to an action. I now said this when the United States first arrived in Mexico:" With one treatment, they took half the place, so it's not that we don't want help, yes, but not with unusual troops," but I've clarified. Conservative groups in the US have pressed the government to step up its offensive against drug cartels in Hispanic territory since Trump's election.
