The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, stated this Tuesday that the “humanist” reflection on artificial intelligence that Leo

That we do not get carried away only by the use of technology, but that we question ourselves, regulate ourselves and think about the future of humanity," declared the president in her daily press conference when questioned about the papal encyclical 'Magnifica Humanitas'.
Sheinbaum said that it is “very worth it” to read the document “whether one is Catholic or not” and highlighted Leo XIV's vision of “closeness to the poorest.”
He also added that the pope presents issues such as who owns the social networks or who generates the algorithm, while describing the title of the first encyclical (Great Humanity) as “exceptional” “for us who are humanists.”
“It is very interesting because it not only talks about the importance of regulating artificial intelligence, but also says by whom it is controlled,” he stressed.
The president read some paragraphs of the document and added that they are issues that have to be addressed to debate “what we have to do from Mexico.”
