Hispanic Commander Norma Carrillo was appointed the Long Beach Police Department ( LBPD )'s deputy chief of the department.

The LBPD announced in a media release that Commander Carrillo would take the position starting on January 10, 2026.

Carrillo has shown a strong commitment to the future of the police department and the public health of Long Beach, according to LBPD Chief Wally Hebeish, highlighting his focus on education and professional development.
