A deputy with the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office, in the Atlanta metro area, was arrested and charged with felony child sexual abuse after allegedly sending nude photos and videos to two teenagers. The officer was on probation and is no longer part of the police force.

Arrest after parent's complaint

Rylee Conner Willis, 21, was Thursday and charged with two felony counts of child abuse and two counts of enticing a minor for indecent purposes, according to police.

The arrest came after a parent discovered explicit messages on his daughter's cell phone and alerted authorities. The case was initially reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Messages to two teenagers

According to the investigation, Willis allegedly sent explicit messages, photos, and videos of himself to two teenagers, one of whom was under 16 at the time of the incidents. The victims would currently be 14 and 15 years old.

Authorities indicated that the exchanges allegedly began in 2023, before Willis formally joined the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office.

Employment Status and Background

The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office confirmed in a statement that Willis was a probationary employee at the time of the events and is no longer employed by the department.

According to the agency's internal regulations, entry-level employees—both sworn and non-sworn—must complete a two-year probationary period before obtaining job security.

Willis had begun working at the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office in March 2025. Previously, he served as a jailer with the Walton County Sheriff's Office, where he worked since July 2022.

Ongoing Investigation

Following his Willis was arrested and taken to the county jail. Authorities have not offered further details while the case remains under investigation. The sheriff's office reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward conduct involving abuse, especially when it affects minors.
