Invited by Donald Trump, Claudia Sheinbaum will travel to New York to attend the World Cup Final
Claudia Sheinbaum gave in to an invitation from Donald Trump and will go to New York to witness the World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina
Claudia Sheinbaum, president of Mexico, announced that, after receiving an invitation from Donald Trump, the American president, to attend the World Cup Final, she will travel to New York.
The first woman to guide the destiny of Mexico will meet the New York magnate again, but this time at the Metlife Stadium and perhaps not to talk about politics, but to enjoy a soccer match.
On Sunday afternoon, Spain and Argentina will define the champion of the first edition of a World Cup held in three different countries.
The United States, Canada and Mexico, in addition to being trading partners thanks to a treaty popularly known as the T-MEC, share their love for soccer in such a way that none of their current presidents wants to miss the moment when the guest of honor bursts in to define the championship team of the competition, shouting goool.
"I received an invitation from President Trump to go to the World Cup Final on Sunday and I made the decision to attend because, well, it is a direct invitation from the president of the United States. The Prime Minister, (Mark) Carney, will also be there," Sheinbaum told a group of media representatives present at an event held in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.
It should be noted that the left-wing politician did not attend the opening of the World Cup held in Mexico, as she decided to give an indigenous girl who plays soccer the ticket previously designated for her.
Trump's call to Sheinbaum comes days before a group of his representatives appear in Mexico to participate in three days of working meetings with their counterparts, this as part of a third round of negotiations to adjust the USMCA to the wishes of the man who governs from the White House.
It is unknown whether, before or after the Final of the most important national team competition in the world, Trump will consider a private meeting with his business partners.
It is practically a fact that, upon hearing the referee's whistle declaring the end of the game, both Sheinbaum and Trump take a few minutes to enjoy the spectacle provided by the Spanish and Argentineans on the field of play.
